About Malaysia
1. Climate
Tropical - perpectual summer with high humidity and variations of
wet and dry seasons. Temperatures range from 21 to 32 degrees
Celsius in the lowlands with a much cooler temperature in highland
areas such as the Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands.
2. Time
Malaysia is 8 hours ahead of Greenwhich mean Time (GMT) and 16 hours
ahead of United States Pacific Time.
3. Population
Totalling 20 million - multiracial, comprising of three major ethnic
groups namely Malays, Chinese and Indians alongside with other
minor minority groups.

4. Language
Bahasa Malaysia is the official language of the country. English is
widely spoken while different dialects are spoken by the locals.
5. Food
A wide variety of food ranging from local spicy food, specialties of
the different ethnic groups to western cuisines. Rice is the staple

Islam is the official religion of the country and other faiths are
allowed to be practiced.
7. Currency
The Malaysian Ringgit (RM) is approximately RM3.5 = USD1 (depending
on the current foreign exchange rate). Licensed money changers are
easily available in the major cities and airports.

A comfortable 3 days 2 nights short holiday from Kuala Lumpur to
places like Penang, Malacca, Perhentian Island, Redang Island,
Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands and Langkawi can be easily
