Statement of Faith of HCFAM

I believe:
1. In one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth
2. In Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, who suffered, died and
who rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God in
glory and He is coming again to judge the world.
3. In the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and indwells in everyone who believes in the
Lord Jesus Christ
4. In the Holy Trinity, the Triune God who alone can pardon and forgive sins of mankind and
grant salvation to all those who believe in Him.
5. In the divine inspiration and infallibility of the Bible as God’s Word to man, and as supreme
authority in the matters of faith and conduct.
6. In the universal sinfulness of man and God’s redemption only through the death of Jesus
Christ, His Son.
7. In the resurrection of the dead and the eternity of life.

History of HCFAM

How it started

Since the early 80’s, moved by the Spirit of God, pocket groups of healthcare Christian staff began meeting together in some major hospitals for prayer and fellowship. Through the regular visits of Ms Leonora van Tonder, HCFI Regional Promoter and Dr Arul Anketell from the mid-80’s onwards, a loose network of partnership developed between these Christian groups which culminated in an annual National HCF conference being held ever since 1990.

In 1995, the Local National Action Team was formed to lay the groundwork for an official National HCF to be formed. On 9th June 2000, the Registrar of Societies of Malaysia granted the approval for Healthcare Christian Fellowship Association (HCFA) Kuala Lumpur, which was subsequently changed to HCFA Malaysia when we had membership from at least 7 out of the 14 states of Malaysia registered. We also became an official member of National Evangelical Christian Fellowship of Malaysia in 2001.
